Despite pretending that all is well in his political camp with his continuous fabrication and peddling of lies and pictures of three new bullet proof jeeps on social media with his social media minnows claiming that they was donated by his supporters in preparation of phantom recovery of his mandate at the election petitions tribunal, investigations have revealed that there are serious cracks and troubles in Labour Party defeated governorship candidate, Barr. Chijioke Edeoga’s inner caucus as his sponsors have withheld further funding to him.

An insider in Barr. Edeoga’s inner caucus being headed by his brother-in-law and former Minister, Chief John Nnia Nwodo (Jnr) who pleaded anonymity, disclosed that while sponsors, donors and supporters who donated their hard-earned monies especially between the presidential and governorship elections with hope of victory are asking for immediate refund, those who donated for tribunal case have suddenly withheld further donations, expressing fear that with the evidences before the tribunal, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s star-studded and finest legal team led by the trio of Wole Olanikpekun (SAN), Dr. Onyechi Ikpeazu (SAN), and Dr Alex Izinyon (SAN), there is no way Barr. Edeoga will secure victory at the tribunal.

This development according to the source has thrown Barr. Edeoga into confusion and frustration. “The donors complained that Nwodo and Edeoga have been giving them fake promises and assurances of victory, while living lavish lifestyles with the funds they contributed for the election and tribunal. Chief Nnia Nwodo and Edeoga have not been transparent, accountable and sincere in their dealings with many of us.

“Barr. Edeoga is cash- strapped now. As a result of this, Edeoga and Nwodo engaged each other in a blame-game at a meeting in Nwodo’s house in Abuja recently, where Barr. Edeoga walked out on him.

“In a bid to cover up the crack and continue to milk some of his gullible donors, especially from Enugu North Senatorial zone dry financially, Barr. Edeoga and his social media e-rats fabricated pictures of three new social media bullet proof jeeps and did a fake write up which they have been peddling all over social media, claiming that the jeeps were donated freely to Barr. Edeoga by his sponsors and supporters in preparation and support of his anticipated mandate recovery at the tribunal.

However, it was learnt that the donors were not deceived, as Edeoga could not mention verifiable names of the purported donors of the SUVs when they wanted to ascertain their identities.

“The donors got wind of Edeoga’s diversion of the Mandate Recovery Project financial windfall to purchase the 3 bulletproof jeeps. There has been disquiet in Edeoga’s camp since the purchase of the high-end jeeps blew open. Many of the sponsors are angered by Edeoga’s blatant profligacy and feel betrayed that while they are contributing their hard-earned resources, Edeoga is more interested in flamboyance and flashy SUVs”, the source disclosed.
