A female journalist, Mrs. Cecilia Ilodi who was recently beaten by the Enugu APC guber candidate, Uchenna Nnaji on Sunday, 12 February, 2023 in Achina street, Idaw-River Layout, Enugu has been earlier today confirmed dead.

Recall that on February 12, Mrs. Ilodi had a misunderstanding with the guber candidate along the aforesaid street which later led to the guber candidate ordering his boys to beat up Mrs. Ilodi for breaking his convoy and using harsh words on Mr. Uchenna NNaji.

In a report made available to our correspondent, Engr Kenneth Ilodi, a husband to the late Cecilia said that his wife died earlier this morning around 5.20 am in Memphizz hospital in Rumuokoro, Port Harcourt in Rivers State.

According to Engr. Ilodi, her wife sustained a lot of serious internal injuries which made the doctors in Enugu recommend a hospital in New Delhi, India but because he could not afford it, a friend suggested Memphizz Hospital in Port Harcourt, which they carried the oxygenated female journalist to.

Mrs. Ilodi according to the doctors was said to have sustained different categories of internal injuries which include; Pneumothorax (an injury sustained when a broken bone punctures the lung and causes the lung to collapse), Ruptured spleen, Abdominal Aorta Rupture (AOR), among other minor cases of external injuries.

“We made a request for financial assistance but none cared to come to our aide. The APC guber candidate, Nnaji brought her to Parklane but when we discovered that the news of her receiving treatment at the Parklane Hospital has been made public, we decided to lift her to an undisclosed hospital from where we then took her to Memphizz Hospital in Port Harcourt which was a hospital my friend who is also a doctor suggested.

“Nnaji dropped her at Parklane hospital and handed just N10,000 to the nurses on duty and since then, no one came asking how she was fairing. Let the vengeance be for the lord,” Engr. Kenneth cries uncontrollably.
