Breaking: Edeoga in trouble as Anthony Ani counters fake news, says he’s prepared to represent PDP, Mbah at tribunal

By Ezugwu Chima

Contrary to the fake news making the rounds by Chijioke Edeoga, Labour Party governorship candidate, and his notorious media goons that Anthony Ani, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, has refused to represent Dr. Peter Mbah, Enugu Governor-elect, and the Peoples Democratic Party at the election tribunal against the frivolous petition filed by Mr. Edeoga and his party, the respected SAN has disclaimed the fake news, saying he was an active member of the legal team.

The learned silk, in a press statement personally signed by him, distanced himself from the fake news Edeoga had authored with a pseudonym “Marcus Idoko” and unleashed on the social media with a fake online blog, Enugumonitor.com notorious for spreading fake news and defamatory contents against Edeoga’s alleged political enemies.

The former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Enugu State further expressed confidence in their articulate and robust reply to the frivolous, vexatious, and dead on arrival petition from Edeoga and the state Labour Party.

The statement reads in full: “My attention has been drawn to a publication by one Marcus Idoko making the rounds in the social media suggesting that I may not represent the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Petition filed by the Labour Party and Chijioke Edoga against Dr. Peter Mba and PDP.

“Let me state for the record that we have a legal team led by my brother Silk Dr. Alex Iziyon, SAN Phd OFR, representing PDP. Furthermore, we have worked together to articulate a robust reply to meet all the issues raised in the Petition of Labour Party and Chijioke Edoga.

“ANTHONY I ANI, SAN FCArb.”

It would be recalled that Edeoga, who is already in court, has been sponsoring fake news against the ruling political party and anyone that has anything to do with his former political party.

Despite the matter being in court, Edeoga has been visiting different media outfits, playing media stunts and paying for massive advertisements in newspapers to influence the likely judgment of the court through such acts of sub judice.

It is on record that Edeoga has been swindling some gullible political investors with the promise that he was reaching out to judges through third parties to procure judgment.
