Gov Nwifuru begs PDP ex-lawmaker, Ogba to join APC
Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru, on Tuesday, begged the former gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Obinna Ogba to join the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
Nwifuru made this known while addressing stakeholders of the State during the commissioning of LEGACY FM and Television built by the former senator, Ogba, who represented Ebonyi Central senatorial zone in the 8th and 9th National Assembly.
According to him: “You should announce to us here that you are joining our Party, APC, to confirm what we have been seeing on the social media, but I don’t want what surprised you to surprise me too.
“I’m still hoping that when you will be making your speeches during the launch, such a statement will come from you.
The Governor also wooed the former deputy speaker of the State House of Assembly, Obasi Odefa, and some other members- Oliver Osi and Ali Okechukwu to join the APC.
“When you see a good product, go for it. Ogba is a good product for APC and as a leader of the Party, APC, I go for it. Whoever that is close to Ogba that will advise him (Ogba) not to join us, should have a rethink,” he stated.
Nwifuru further applauded Senator Ogba for the massive support and contributions given to him during the 2023 general election, which led to his victory and emergence as the governor of Ebonyi State.
In a remark, Senator Ogba extolled the Governor for honouring his invitation and commissioning the radio station.
“The wooing to join APC, is a story for another day. He is lobbying me to come and that’s part of politics. In politics you lobby, it is the legislators’ duty to lobby and he was a speaker for eight years,” he noted.
