Enugu Commissioner For Environment, Prof. Sam Chijioke Ugwu rallies supports of Permanent Secretary, Heads of Agencies, staff, among others

There was excitement at the ministry of environment, Enugu state, following an interactive session, organized by the Enugu state commissioner for environment and Climate change, Prof. Samuel Chijioke Ugwu, the permanent secretary, heads of Agencies and other staff of the ministry.
The meeting which marked the resumption of duty of the new commissioner, was held on the 14th of August, 2023, with the aim of rallying supports of the staff of the ministry.
Speaking during the event, Prof. Ugwu thanked the Executive Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for finding him worthy to serve in his cabinet. He however, reiterated that he was conscious of the enormous challenges and responsibilities ahead of him and solicited for the workers’ unalloyed supports in moving the ministry to a greater height as he was ready to work all day and night to ensure that the philosophy of Peter Mbah Administration was actualized.
He further stated that his administration will collaborate with development partners to address problems of environmental pollution and climate change, thereby turning waste to wealth initiative in order to increase the IGR of the state.
The staff of the ministry also used the opportunity to highlight the challenges confronting them, just as the honourable commissioner made a promise to tackle them in record time..
In the vote of thanks, the acting permanent secretary of the ministry, Mr. Abia Mathew and the public relations officer of the ministry, Mrs..Ugwu Tina in their respective remarks, extended their appreciation to the Governor of the State, Dr. Peter Mbah for assigning Prof. Ugwu in the ministry and pledged the supports and loyalty of the staff in actualizing the manifesto of the current administration.
