2023: Stakeholders have no faith in our party, Edeoga laments as campaign fails in Igbo-Eze North
The dismissed Enugu Labour Party guber candidate, Chief Chijioke Edeoga has revealed that Enugu Labour Party leaders no longer have faith in his candidacy, as well as the party.
Edeoga whose disappointment could not be hidden while in a campaign tour to Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area, never wasted time to lambast the leadership of Labour Party at the state level for giving up so quickly in their pursuit to oust the leading Peoples Democratic Party in the state. Edeoga was seen baring his sadness in a video released online.
The Igbo-Eze North tour was worse than scanty, which is a bold statement from the people of Enugu that they are not ready to identify with LP on the state level, nor do they want to give their allegiance to Edeoga. With the clarity that the outcome of the appealed court case will surely go against the sacked guber candidate, the people have clearly abandoned LP and Edeoga to lick his wound of loss and shame alone.
The damage is deeper, as even the leaders of LP in Enugu have shown a body language that shows that they have doused their support for Edeoga, which he could help but lament bitterly about. He disclosed that he was very much aware that the Labour Party leaders and supporters since the court judgment had deserted him, insisting that it was not over until it was over.
“From what I have witnessed here today, it shows that those who call themselves Labour Party Chairmen in this state don’t have faith in our party or project. If they have, we would have witnessed a large turnout of members today. How can you call yourself a party member and not work for your party’s victory? This is disappointing, I must confess,” Edeoga thundered in sheer defeat.
